About Frank Vitale Photography
I'm a Massachusetts-based freelance writer and photographer specializing in Nature, Travel, the Environment, Landscape and Coastal images and issues. I have travelled to Hong Kong and Palawan, Philippines. I’ve explored Hong Kong's famed Dragon's Back trail overlooking the island's spectacular coastline. I've also visited Palawan's El Nido Eco-Resort on Miniloc Island. I’ve toured the Canadian Maritimes exploring New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island. Recently I visited the Great Smoky Mountains and Shenandoah National Parks and returned from a trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
In 2017 I enjoyed a week living in the “Thalassa” dune shack overlooking Cape Cod’s Province Lands dunes, beach and ocean. In 2012 I was awarded an Artist-in-Residency for a 2-week stay in the “Margo-Gelb” dune shack where I completed a photography project and exhibited my work in the Cape Cod Visitor Center and Truro Center for the Arts. I also spent a 1-week stay in the dune shack “Zara”.
As a freelance writer, I have had articles appear in the New York Times with a piece entitled "A Who's Who of the Tree World - A World of Trees at Home". Also, based on several trips to the Allagash Wilderness Waterway in Maine, I wrote about my family's experiences in "Canoeing the Allagash" which also appeared in the Times Travel Section. I’ve had my photographs appear in print or on web sites of the Boston Globe, NY Times, Mass Wildlife, Mass Audubon as well as other notable organizations.
